This brand started with a dog named Tex.

Tex is a treeing walker coonhound and mountain cur mix, nine years old. I've had her since she was seven weeks old, and she grew up running the offroad trails I take my Jeep down, out front, leading the pack. Around here, she's known as the best spotter on the trail. Living in Colorado, we hike a lot. She's used to covering a lot of ground, and she's glad to do her job.

At the end of every one of those days, she sleeps like she's earned it. Watching her come home worn out and content, I kept landing on the same simple idea: tired dog, happy dog.

That's the whole philosophy. It doesn't take a fourteener. A tired dog might come from a summit or from a treat hunt session in the backyard. From a trail or a lap around the neighborhood. The point isn't how far you go, it's that you went, together, and you both come home better for it.

Tex is the inspiration for this brand. That sleeping dog in our logo? That's her. We make comfortable, well-made apparel for the people who get what she's about. Soft heavyweight cotton, garment-dyed so it fades and wears in over the years. Simple designs, made to be lived in.
